HM the King Performs Friday Prayer in Dakar Grand Mosque with the Senegalese Prime Minister
HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HH Prince Moulay Ismail and Senegalese Prime Minister Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne, performed the Friday prayer in the Dakar Grand Mosque.
In his sermon, the imam gave thanks to God who created humanity from Adam and Eve and made their offspring of peoples, tribes and nations, who cannot do without each other. The Imam noted that the purpose of the Islamic message is to accomplish the happiness of human beings, to ensure their dignity and elevation, bearing in mind that the way to attain this happiness is to fill one’s heart with guidance and purity, faith and certainty, love and harmony, so as to unify the hearts in steadfast communion.
Following the Friday prayer, HM the King donated 10,000 copies of the Holy Quran to the parties in charge of the management of religious affairs in Senegal. The Quran copies are published by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Edition of the Holy Quran and are meant to be distributed in Senegal’s mosques.
This batch of Quran copies, based on Warsh version from Nafi’ as adopted by Morocco and these countries, is offered in accordance with the royal instructions to meet the needs of mosques in western African countries.
