African Islamic heritage in Niger Between the Past, Present and Future Prospects
The conference on the African Islamic heritage in Niger aimed to realize the objectives of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Dahir of the Foundation, which states that it is necessary to: “Work towards the revitalization of the common Islamic cultural heritage, make it known and ensure its dissemination, preservation and protection. ”
Thus, the conference responded to the proposals of the committee for the revitalization of African Islamic heritage during its two sessions, in 2017 and 2018 continuously. Meanwhile, it was organized as part of the program implementation of the committee of the revitalization of the African Islamic heritage of the Niger section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema.
As an act of implementation of the proposals and recommendations of the committee of the revitalization of heritage, the Nigerien section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema organized a conference under the theme of “African Islamic heritage in Niger Between the Past, Present and Future Prospects, on 17 and 18 Dhu Al Qi’ada 1440 H, corresponding to 20 and 21 July 2019, in Niamey.
