Fez : Launch of the third ordinary session of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema
With the approval of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, held in the city of Fez, the meeting of the third ordinary session of the Higher Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema on 20-21 Rabi’ II 1441 H corresponding to 17-18 December 2019, and in the presence of 357 members of the Foundation’s section in 32 African countries, of whom 90 are women, and 20 Moroccan members attend it, including 4 women.
During the opening session, Pr. Ahmed Toufiq, the Vice President of the Foundation, considered that the Foundation’s assets are the human and spiritual value of its members, by what they inform and carry to the people of the faithful words cooperation with the virtues of good things. Furthermore, Pr Toufiq called for more clarity in the objectives of the foundation.
In the name of Moroccan Oulema, Pr. Mohamed Yessef, General secretary of the Higher Council of Oulema of Morocco, called on preserving the values of Islam and religious principles and unite the efforts of Oulema.
Sheikh Mbwana Abubakar Zubeir, Mufti of the Republic of Tanzania and president of the section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Tanzania, said that the foundation is under the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful, may God protect and preserve him. This saves Africa from the obstacles facing the prosperous future of the continent,from which we cite Oulema, youth, women and children.
The Mufti of Tanzania added that protecting them, on the basis of the religious principles common to all African Oulema is happening through the banner of the Foundation. Also, he mentionned that this meeting is a Snapchat of African Islamic unity and brotherhood, and that the message of African Oulema under the leadership of Mawlana, Commander of the Faithful, is to save the African man, whatever his beliefs.
On the other hand, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Rifki, General Secretary of the Foundation , presented the moral and financial reports related to the annual outcome of the Foundation’s activities for the year 2019, during which he presented the activities carried out by the Foundation and its sections during the past year. In his intervention, he also presented a list of activities to be studied by the four permanent committees of the Foundation during the third session of the Higher Council of the Foundation.
The Foundation’s annual program project for the year 2020 is going to be exmanied and approved during the session. As well as activating the meetings of the four permanent committees: the Committee of Scientific and Cultural Activities, the Committee of Sharia Studies, the Committee of the Revival of African Islamic Heritage, and the Committee of Communication, Cooperation and Partnerships.
The Higher Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema is considered the first organ of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema and works to define the general directions of the institution, study the annual action program and issues referred to it by the President of the Foundation, and the budget of the institution and its approval.
The Higher Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, in addition to the Vice President of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema as President of this Council, is composed of all members of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema.
