HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, may God glorify him, Chairs Third Ramadan Lecture 1444
Casablanca – His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, Thursday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, the third religious lecture of the holy month of Ramadan.
This lecture was delivered by the president of the Local Council of the Ulemas of the prefecture of the El Fida-Mers Sultan districts, Mohamed Mouchane, under the theme “The virtue to hold fast to the sold Rope of Allah and the Sunna of His Prophet”, inspired by the Hadith Al-Sharif reported by Imam Malik and in which the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, Peace Be Upon Him, said: “I have left two matters with you. As long as you hold to them, you will not go the wrong way. They are the Book of Allah and the Sunna of His Prophet.”
The lecturer pointed out that this Hadith Al-Sharif bears the imprint of the power of synthesis specific to the words of the Prophet, pbuh, noting that the Hadith exhorts to cling to the Quran and the Sunnah and calls to conform and follow their ways.
He stressed, in this sense, that the Hadith clearly indicates that protection and salvation are the lot of the one who clings firmly to the Book and the Sunna because they are preserved and their truth is established until the Day of Judgment.
The president of the Local Council of Ulemas of the prefecture of El Fida-Mers Sultan districts explained that the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet are “the solid rope of God and the path of Salvation”, indicating that God took care of preserving the Holy Quran when the Almighty said: “it is We who sent down the Quran and indeed, We will be its guardian”.
The Almighty has preserved it from any false addition or omission and has protected it from any distortion, change or falsification, he noted, adding that Allah promised His Prophet to keep it safe from falsifiers and those blinded by hate.
Regarding the Sunnah of the Prophet, the lecturer said that it is one of the foundations of the Islamic religion and the second source after the Holy Quran, adding that the Sunnah is closely related to the Holy Book since it interprets its general rules, elucidates its general concepts, specifies what the Quran has not detailed and delimits the precepts that have been dealt with absolutely.
It is therefore inconceivable to consider an understanding of the Book of God without referring to the tradition of His Messenger, he said, adding that the Sunnah is essential to understand the provisions of Islamic law.
The speaker also reviewed the efforts of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in the service of the Hadith of His Grandfather, the Master of all Messengers, hailing the achievements made under the blessed era of the Sovereign in promoting religious discourse in the service of God’s religion and the Sunnah of His Grandfather, the Prophet, peace be upon him.
In addition, Mouchane mentioned the lectures presided over by the Commander of the Faithful, which are an ideal opportunity to study the hadith and celebrate the Sunnah.
Another manifestation of the Commander of the Faithful’s efforts to promote hadith Al-Sharif is represented by the High instructions given by the Sovereign for the preparation of “Mouataâ Al Imam Malik”, a collection of authentic hadiths elaborated by the great scholar, Imam Malik, he pointed out, noting that scholars are unanimous in affirming that this copy, which has been supervised by a scientific commission of the Supreme Council of Ulemas, is the best and the most accurate to date of this work.
The efforts of the Commander of the Faithful to promote the hadith Al-Sharif also include “Addourous Alhadithia” in their graphic and interactive aspects that His Majesty the King ordered to establish and kindly kicked off, and which are broadcasted by the TV channel Assadissa as well as by the Mohammed VI radio of the Holy Quran, recalled Mouchane.
He also stressed the contribution of the Mohammed VI Prize “Ahl al-Hadith” to promote and preserve the Hadith while honoring the readers of the Hadith, noting that this award is dedicated to eminent scientific personalities, who have stood out in the Kingdom by their contributions to promote, defend and clarify the Hadith in a way that reveals the splendor and aesthetics of this religion, and who receive this glorious prize from the hands of the Sovereign.
The speaker also referred to the Mohammed VI platform of Hadith established by order of His Majesty the King in the service of the Hadith of the Prophet, stressing that this platform is a noble action among others of the Commander of the faithful and crowns all previous aspects of individual and renewed care.
At the end of the lecture, HM the King was greeted by Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Houssein, Grand Mufti of Al Quds and Palestine, Hassan Ben Mohamed Safar, professor at King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia), Mokhtar al-Mufti al-Hosni, professor of Hadith at Al al-Bayt University (Jordan), al-Hajj Ole Naado, president of the Supreme Council of Muslims in Kenya, and Benjamin Erol, a member of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs in Turkey.
HM the King was also greeted by Dikr Arrahmane, university professor and director of the Indian Islamic Cultural Center in New Delhi, Said Hibatullah Kamilev, director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization in Moscow, Abdelaziz Ben Saleh Al Aoudi, advisor to the Ministry of Waqfs and Religious Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, Idrissa Miaga Abdallah, president of the Section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in Niger and Sidi Mohamed Maiga, member of the Section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in Burkina Faso.
