Sheikh Mamadou Traore moved to the mercy of Allah
Sheikh Mamadou Traore, President of the Supreme Council of Imams and President of the Section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, moved to the mercy of Allah on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021.
Sheikh Traore was born in 1944, and he graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo. He also had a long professional experience in the banking sector. Sheikh Traoré occupied the position of Professor of Arabic Language at the National University of Abidjan between 1980 and 1983.
Since 2001, he held the position of Imam of the Grand Mosque in the city of Rivera Golf. Then, he was appointed as the new President of the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, on May 29th, 2020, to succeed Sheikh Boikary Fofana, may God have mercy on him.
On this painful occasion, the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema extends its deepest and sincere condolences to all members of Sheikh Traore’s family, the brotherly Ivorian people in particular, and all Muslims in general.
