Speech on Behalf of the African Islamic Heritage Committee of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema
Dr. Hamid Lahmar, coordinator of the Committee for the Revival of African Islamic Heritage of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, stated that the conference under the theme of African Islamic Heritage in Niger was an act of implementation of article 4 of the Basic Law of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, which stipulates that, the common African-Islamic cultural heritage must be revived by introducing it, disseminating it, and preserving it.
This came during a speech on behalf of the Committee for the Revival of African Islamic Heritage of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema during the first day of the second scientific conference organized by the section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Niger, entitled: The African Islamic Heritage in Niger between Past, Present and Future Prospects, on: Saturday and Sunday 17-18 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1440 H, corresponding to 20-21 July 2019, in Niamey.
The symposium also comes in response to the proposals of the Committee for the Revival of African Islamic Heritage in its first sessions 2017 and 2018, as well as a an implementation of the formulated program of the Committee of the Revival of African Islamic Heritage at the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Niger.
While selecting the theme of African Islamic heritage for this symposium, Dr. Hamid Lahmar stated that it is a right and successful choice that reflects the launch of the implementation of the proposals and recommendations of the meeting of the Heritage Revival Committee, and addressed a very important scientific project, within one of the themes of the committee’s activities committee for the revival of African Islamic heritage at the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema.
Mr. Hamid Lahmar added that the creation of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema by Amir Al Mouminine, His Majesty,King Mohammed VI, came in a natural way, through two basic things: a deep sense of the honesty of the common history of our African community , and foresight of what the present and future impose, from the protection of religion, and through the role of the foundation as a framework for cooperation, exchange of experiences, and coordination of efforts among African scientists.
