The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Edition of the Holy Quran, created under the High Patronage of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, is non-profit enjoying legal personality and financial autonomy. This Foundation was placed under the tutelage of the Ministry of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs and has its registered office in the city of Mohammedia.

In accordance with the Dahir No. 1.09.198 8 Rabi’ I 1431 (February 23th, 2010) establishing its creation, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Edition of the Holy Quran is a superior national institution of reference in the field of the scientific, material and artistic development of the reproduction, dissemination and the recording of the Holy Quran on all media. The Foundation is headed by Mr. Hamid Houmani.

The Tasks of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Edition of the Holy Quran

To this end, it is responsible for:

1. reproducing, on the orders of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI (Commander of the Faithful), the Holy Quran based on the narration of Warch held of Nafiâ according to the rules adopted in the sciences of transcriptions and readings;
2. supervising the printing of the Holy Qur’an and work on its broadcast and distribution;
3. overseeing the recording of the reading of the Holy Quran, including according to the narration of Warch held of Nafiâ by using various forms of media materials;
4. granting permissions to the physical or legal persons wishing to print or distribute the Holy Quran;
5. carrying out monitoring and checking work of printed or recorded copies of the Holy Quran to make sure that they contain no errors and they have obtained the authorization referred to in 4) above and possibly take the measures provided for by law in order to intercept them and prohibit their circulation, without prejudice to the right of the Foundation to initiate necessary legal proceedings in accordance with the laws in force;
6. establishing cooperative links with institutions and organizations, public or private, at the national and international levels, to contribute in the achievement of its objectives.
